Heraldine I. "Dean" Shirrell 70, of Indianapolis, passed away February 4, 2008. She was born September 22, 1937 in Beckley, West Virginia to Harold Rupert and Virginia Iris Scarbrough McClung.

Heraldine graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1955. She worked at Montgomery Zuckerman Davis Advertising for 38 years, retiring in 2000. Ms. Shirrell was an avid bowler and worked with children in the Special Olympics for over 20 years.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 8 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 E. Washington St. with services at 3:00 p.m.

Heraldine is survived by her daughters, Becky Walker and Tammy (Jeff) Mattingly; grandchildren, Nikki Walker, Angie Walker, and Eric (Adria) Mattingly; six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Aubriana, Britney, Breale, Brookley, and Odin; niece, Dawn Tuttle; nephew, Brian Tuttle; and three grand nephews, Travis, Tanner, and Tyler Tuttle. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics.(Indy Star)
