Richard Dale Hicks of Merritt Island, FL - He grew up in Tuscaloosa, AL and served his country in WWII in the U.S. Army. He received his engineering degree from the University of Alabama and his MBA from Texas Christian University. He worked for General Electric as a project manager at Kennedy Space Center and later became a teacher at Merritt Island High School. Richard also was a co-owner of the Christian Book store in Merritt Island for more than forty years and was a member of the Firt Baptist Church of Merritt Island. Surviving are his wife, Anne Morrison Hicks; children, Valerie (Thomas) English of Mobile, AL, and Jennifer Pait; grandchildren, Rachel English of Birmingham, Jeffrey English of Mobile, Corrine Pait, Samuel Pait and Jonathan Pait; siblings, Bob (Maxine) Hicks, Martha (Charles) Potts, and Harvey (Yvonne) Porter, all of Tuscaloosa. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Hicks Porter and a brother, Gilbert Hicks. A Memorial Service will be held on November 29,l 2010 at the Wylie-Baxley Merritt Island Funeral Home.
