Johannes Kunzelman was the son of Johan Phillip Kuntzelman 1737-1809 and Barbara Diem Kuntzelman.

Johannes was born in Northumberland County, Pa. and was baptized May 1776 at Himmel Church, Northumberland County

Johannes's father and grandparents came to America on the ship 'Molly' October 16, 1741. Johannes's grandparents were Bartolomai Kuntzelman and Marea Barbara Comens they arrived in Philadelphia having come from Wendelsheim, Rheinland Pzala, Germany.

This Johannes married Margaretha (Mary) Reissen 1775-1858. No marriage record has been located to verify her maiden name as Reissin though.
