Cleo was born in the Battle Rock area of McElmo Canyon, Montezuma County Colorado. She attended early grades in the small country schools in Disappointment Valley and High School in both Cortez and Dove Creek.
Cleo married Calvin D. Gore Sept 27, 1941, in Dove Creek CO. To this union were born three children. They resided in Dove Creek until the early 1970's when they moved to the Yampa Valley in Northern Colorado.
The women described in Proverbs 31 applies to her. She, indeed, worked willingly with her hands to supply food for her family. She would butcher and dress chickens by the hundreds for a third of the finished product. She would handpick vegetables and fruit of all kinds, by the bushel, for the farmers, for a portion to can for her family. She was always generous to share what she had with those in need.
