JOHN STEVENSON, 98, OF BIGGSVILLE DIES; RITES SET WEDNESDAY
John A Stevenson, 98, a retired farmer, died Sunday evening at Mercy Hospital in Burlington.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the United Presbyterian Church in Biggsville. The Rev. James McClellan will officiate. Burial will be in the Biggsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sederwall Funeral Home.
Mr. Stevenson was born August 8, 1854, in Belfast, Ireland. He came to this country with his parents when he was 16 and settled in the Biggsville area. He married Margaret Jane Gibb, October 26, 1876. She died January 17, 1921.
Surviving are two sons, Paul and Reuben Stevenson, both of Biggsville; and two daughters, Mrs. Edna Parsons of Libertyville, IA, and Mrs. Earl Fallwell of Cheyenne, WY; 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
