Isabelle K. Klimek, 82, of Wadena, and formerly of Parkers Prairie, passed away Nov. 18, 2010, at Inga's Place in rural Wadena.
She was born to Fred and Beatrice V. (Moats) Preitauer on Jan. 5, 1928 in Henning. Isabelle married Melvin E. Klimek on Feb. 17, 1947. She lived in the Wadena area for more than 43 years and worked in the Shady Lane Nursing Home and Tri-County Hospital kitchens. She belonged to TOPS Club. Her free time was filled with family and friends, bingo, puzzles, word-find books and reading. She loved having family and friends around at all times. Her gift was to make everyone feel special and welcome. You always knew she was around because of her laugh!
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 23 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena, with the Rev. Donald Wagner as celebrant. Pallbearers were Christopher Eckhoff, Bradley Eckhoff, Erik Kopischke, Lori Eischens, Ryan Davey and Stephen Klimek. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Wadena. Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).
Survivors include her children, Betty Ann Dunker of Ottertail, Shirley (Alan) Kopischke of Ottertail, Kathy Davey of Browerville, Sandra (Matt) Rucker of Leggit, Calif., and Bernadette (Larry) Zick of Richville; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, Maynard Prietauer and Malcolm Preitauer both of Conrad, Mont., and Fred (Nancy) Preitauer of Brady, Mont.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her former husband, Melvin; her parents, Fred and Beatrice, a son, Melvin Jr.; and a daughter, Barbara Eckhoff.
