BUFFKIN, MARY RUSSELL
Mrs. Mary Russell Buffkin-A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and a resident of Mobile, Alabama since 1964, died in a local hospital on Monday, March 6, 1989 at 9 a.m. following a short illness. She was a member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church. Mrs Buffkin was a graduate of the University of Alabama, former teacher at Murphy High School and owned and operated Huffstettler Business College, now Phillips College. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Ralph P. Buffkin; one daughter, Miss Leigh Anne Buffkin; one son, Russell C. Buffkin all of Mobile; her mother, Wynelle Hollis; step father, Mr. Murray Cobb Hollis both of Winfield, Alabama; three sisters, Mrs Susanna White of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Mrs. Julie Huskey of Dothan, Alabama and Mrs. Martha Howell of Indianapolis, Indiana; her grandfather, Mr. W.G. Hunnicutt; one aunt, Mrs. Mary Ruth Athey both of Mobile; two cousins, Mrs Jamie Miller of Mobile and Mrs. Ann Vosseler of Jacksonville, Alabama; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 1989 followed by memorial services at Chapel of Roche-Belmany Mortuary at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to V.M.I foundation, Lexington, Virginia 24450. Funeral arrangements by Roche Belmany Guardia Chapel, 100 South Beltine Hwy., Mobile, Alabama.
