George Efton Boswell, 79, of Bolivar died about 3:05 AM Saturday, Sept. 15, 1990, at his home in Bolivar after an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Bolivar and Polk County and was a retired farmer and well driller.
Survivors include his wife Greta Boswell of the home; one daughter, Elizabeth Climer and one son, James Boswell, both of Bolivar; one brother, Floyd Boswell of Bolivar; two sisters, Ruby Peters of Tulsa Okla., and Unas Jackson of the state of California; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 10 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Slagle Cemetery south of Bolivar with the Rev. James Burnett and the Rev. Ken Robinson officiating. Burial was under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
