Roy Lee Adkins, 74, of Centralia died at his home Monday, Nov. 29, 2010.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Fenton Funeral Chapel in Centralia. Officiating will be Peter Troniseck. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the funeral chapel. Pallbearers will be Dennis Smith, Kevin Smith, Brock Adkins, Garth Adkins, Garrett Connolly and Justin Connolly.
Roy was born July 17, 1936, to John Franklin and Margaret Robinett Adkins. He married Dazzarine Mabrey on Jan. 14, 1957, at the Assembly of God Church in Columbia.
Mr. Adkins was a salesman for Pepsi Cola for 36 years, and after retiring, he worked as a truck driver for Gallup Trucking of Columbia.
In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by his three children, Amy Lynn Adkins-Smith and husband Kirby of Columbia, Dennis Dwayne Adkins and wife Marsha of Centralia, Elizabeth Ellen Adkins-Connolly and husband Peter Troniseck of Centralia; eight grandchildren, Dennis Smith, Kevin Smith, Brock Adkins, Ashley Wyer, Garth Adkins, Monica Wampler, Garrett Connolly and Justin Connolly; three great-grandchildren, Brodie Adkins, Ainslea Adkins and Charley Ray Wampler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Cheryl Marie Adkins; and one brother, William Adkins.
The family suggests memorials to Missouri River Hospice or the Missouri Heart Association, both of Columbia.
