MATHEWS- The Rev. Iris Elmon Belch, 81, of Mathews, died Saturday, October 24, 1964 in a Richmond hospital after a long illness.
He was a retired Baptist minister.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thomas S. Hunley, Jr., of Mathews and Mrs William Walker and Mrs. Ray Mintz both of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. A. D. Parnell and Mrs. J. D. Melvin, both of Lumberton, N.C.; and two brothers, Edwin Belch of Wilmington, N.C., and Robert Belch of Centralia, Ill.
A graveside funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Monday at Gwynn's Island Cemetery conducted by the Rev. L. R. Broughman, pastor of Gwynn's Island Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Willard Bensten, John W. Wroten, Leonard Callis, Russell Foster, J. R. Bassett, Sr., and Arthur Gay.
