W. E. WEED

An illness o 18 months, the last 15, of which he had been confined to his bed, ended in death at 9 last night for W. E. WEED, 61, of 1643 South Sixth street.

He had lived here for the past 20 years, having been a paint and paper contractor. Before coming to Abilene, he had lived at Merkel since 1911.

Born at Sadler in Grayson county, Dec. 17, 1879, he was married to Odessa BIGGS at Comanche, Nov. 11, 1905.

WEED is survived by his wife; a son, S. T. WEED, a daughter, Mrs. Sam CHEEK, his mother, Mrs. J. T. SIMMONS, all of Abilene; a sister, Mrs. Maude LOWE, Littlefield, a brother, I. T. WEEK, Lubbock; two half brothers, J. H. SIMMONS, Sherman, and C. L. SIMMONS, Colorado City; four step sisters; and a grandson, Billy WEED of Abilene.

He was a member of the Baptist church.

The funeral will be at the Elliott chapel today at 4 p.m. with the Rev. W. C. ASHFORD, South Side Baptist pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill cemetery.
