From an undated newspaper, probably the Charlotte Republican
Miss Elizabeth Hodgman was born in New York in 1844 and came to Michigan with her parents when 11 years old, buying a home int he town of North Adams, Hillsdale County.
She was married to Newton H. Baker of Somerset, Hillsdale Co., in 1863, and to this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Alex Rasey of this city and Mrs. John L. Miller who died in 1888.
Mrs. Baker died at her home in Brookfield, Thursday morning, Oct. 29, 1914, aged 70 years and two months.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter and three grandchildren, Mrs. Beth Feezell and Claude Rasey of Maryville, Tenn., and Frank L. Miler of this city, six great grandchildren, besides many living friends who mourn her loss.
Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alex Rasey, 324 Lansing Street, Saturday afternoon. Burial at Maple Hill, with Rev. Boatman of Charlesworth [sic] officiating.
