Strawdey Clinton McCarty, longtime
Owasso resident, died on Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, in Owasso at the age of 74.
He was born on October 14, 1936, in Owasso
to Strawdey Stanley and Ruth (Fain)McCarty.
McCarty was reared and educated in Owasso, and
graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1955. He was married on Oct.23, 1954, in Tulsa, Okla. to Judy Lord.
Strawdey spent most of his working life
as a lead customer service agent for Bran-
iff Airlines and later worked for the Tulsa
County Construction Division.
Strawdey owned the Tastee Freeze in Tulsa, Okla. and the Burger Hut in Talala, Okla.
He was a member of the Grace Baptist
Church, in Sperry, Okla. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes, including spending time outdoors and on the farm, but most important to him was spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents
an great-grandson, Cameron McCarty.
Loving family members include his wife
of 56 years, Judy, of the home; daughter
Annette and her husband Kenneth Asher,
of Sentobia, Miss.; son Mark McCarty, of
Owasso; son John McCarty and his wife
Wendy, of Owasso; daughter Deborah and
her husband Richard Lee, of Tulsa, Okla.; 11
grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one
sister Julia Strokes, of Owasso; one nephew
Michael Strokes and faithful dog, Buddy.
Visitation was held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.,
Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at Mowery Funeral
Service in Owasso.
Graveside services and interment was
held at 11 a.m. Nov. 29, 2010 at the Fairview
Cemetery in Owasso with Pastor Bill Field
officiating.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
