NOTE: Daniel's age fluctuates on census and the Civil War documents. His age is listed as being 27 at the time of death which gives us an approximate 1835 birth year. I am going to use the approximate birth year that is on the 1850 census in Dubois County. Daniel is age 7 which brings us back to about 1843 or 1844.

Son of George W. and Malinda Baysinger Chanley of Tennessee and Kentucky respectively.

Brother of several, some born in Kentucky and the rest born in Indiana.

Cause of death was Rubeola which is known as measles.

It is not known if this Daniel married.

On February 18, 1887 his mother Malinda filed for Daniel's Civil War pension and on September 26 1893 his father George filed against the pension again. There is no indication of a widow or minor children on the pension card.

There is no headstone on his grave.
