Charles Carl was born 21 July 1857 and his mother Maria Sophia Best died 23 July 1857 2 days after giving birth to Charles Carl Mahloch.

Carl Mahloch, 80, passed away at his home in Kiel today after a two weeks illness. He was born July 21, 1857, in the town of Rhine where he married Miss Helena Gerlach April 8, 1883. The couple located on a farm in the town of Rhine for 23 years and for some time after that they made their home in New Holstein. For 10 years they resided on a farm in the town of Schleswig which is now owned by their son, Martin. For the past eight years they have lived at Kiel in their present home.
Seven children were born to them and one daughter, Ella, Died at the age of four. Survivors are Mrs. Mahloch and six children, Mrs. Louis Brieske of Elkhart Lake; Mrs. Edward Michels of Brillion; Mrs. Erich Temreck of the town of Schleswig; Mrs. Edwin Lueloff of Kiel; Philip of the state of Washington, and Martin on the homestead; two brothers, John of Collins and Christian of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Wolff of the town of Rhine, and Mrs. Nettie Gerlach of Elkhart Lake, and nine grandchildren.
