Mrs. Verna (Alvin) Sixel, 76, formerly of W-6015 Cth FF, Elkhart Lake and currently a resident of the Rocky Knoll Health Care Center, died there on Friday, June 7, 1991, after an extended illness.

The former Verena Brost was born on July 31, 1914 in Town of Meeme, a daughter of the late Peter and Rose Fessler Brost. She attended school in School Hill.
Verena H Brost was united in Marriage to Alvin Sixel on April 18, 1934. Together Alvin and Verena farmed in the town of Rhine. She was also employed at Sargento Cheese for 18 years retiring in 1974. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1984. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in the town of Rhine. And was the past treasurer of the Ladies Aid of St. Peters UCC.

Survivors include her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Louette (Robert) Boeldt, of rural Plymouth; Mrs. Margene (Milton) Karstaedt, of Cleveland; Mrs. Geraldine (Richard) Korb, of Kiel; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin (Evelyn) Brost, of Cleveland; Erwin (Alma) Brost of School Hill; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Leona Sixel of Cleveland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Verena was preceded in death by one sister and one great granddaughter.
