Robt. Hamilton was born September 3, 1834, in Hardeman County, Tennessee. With his parents he came to Texas in 1836. In 1861 he enlisted in the First Texas Cavalry and served till the close of the war between the States. He married Miss Mary Jane Stephens-four of their children are living. When a boy he became a member of the Methodist church. At the age of 37 he became a Christian. Since that time he has been faithful in the work. Settling in San Saba, Texas, he, with a few others, rented a house and began worshipping as the Lord directs. There were additions and other preachers assisted in the work. The house of worship there is a result of their faithfulness. For many years he has been faithfully preaching the Gospel in Texas, Alabama and Florida. --Gospel Preachers Who Blazed the Trail by C.R.
