Julia Anne Charland, 53, of 126 Highland Ave. died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. A native of Malone, she lived in Syracuse for the past 35 years. She retired in 1994 from Carrier Corp. after 25 years. She was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church. Her husband, Leo R., died in 1979. Surviving are four daughters, Barbara Fields, Mary Powers, Marie Thomas and Patricia Johnston, all of Syracuse; one son, Roger J. Charland of Syracuse; four stepdaughters, Lucille Reome, Simone Reome, Muriel Peters and Leona Reome, all of Syracuse; one stepson, Leo Charland of Central Square; seven brothers, Robert, Leon, Donald, Claude, John and Joseph Bombard, all of Malone, and Charles Bombard of Canton; one sister, Alice Visalli of Syracuse; 12 grand-children; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at the Chase Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 1520 South Ave.
