Paul B. Krall Jr., 98, formerly residing at Providence House, Reading, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at 4:30 a.m. in Kutztown Manor after a short illness.
Born in Reading on September 15, 1912, he was a son of the late Paul B. Sr. and laura Addie (Behler) Krall.
Paul was a graduate of Reading High School. He worked for Maier's Bakery for over 35 years.
He served in the U. S. Army as a military policeman during World War II.
Paul played on the semi-professional baseball team Ajax. He had many interests and participated in many checker and chess tournaments. He played the violin for a Reading community orchestra. He loved classical music and was often seen at concerts in the Reading Area.
Survivors include his daughter, Paulette M. Krall, Shillington; son, George D., husband of Susan Krall, St. James, N.Y.; and grandson, Daniel Krall, New Orleans, La.
Services will be held Monday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. from Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, with the Rev. Monsignor Thomas J. Orsulak officiating. Interment will be in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Krumsville, with the Rev. James R. Hammond officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
