NATCHEZ - Services for Bessie Marie Garrett Murray, 90, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center following a brief illness, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Barney Cabra officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Murray was born May 10, 1918, in Franklin County, the daughter of Edgar and Ada Mae Dawkins Garrett. She was a long time employee of H.F. Byrne Company and the A&P Tea Company. She was a member of Bude Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Leslie James Murray; four sisters; and five brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Murray Goss and husband, Leroy, both of Natchez, and Hilda Murray McDonald and husband, Wayne, both of Megargel, Ala.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
