Ruby Lois Wooten Nelson,81, of Burkburnett died Sunday in Wichita Falls.
Ruby was born May 15,1927 to Earnest and Florence Faulkner in Burnet County, Texas. She graduated from Lampasas High School and Jackson Business College in Lampasas. She was a member of the Burkburnett church of Christ. Mrs. Nelson taught 3rd. grade Bible class for many years. She was involved in the Bus Ministry for over 20 years. She was an active member of the PTA, Band Parents Club, a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Nelson was also instrumental in helping to establish the Fireman's Wives Auxiliary support group. Besides being a seamstress for the public for many years, she was a devoted homemaker,wife,mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday May 20,2008 in the Owens & Brumley Chapel in Burkburnett with Mark Hendry officiating, interment will follow in the Burkburnett Cemetery with Owens & Brumley of Burkburnett in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Nelson was married to Reavis Wooten for 30 years. He preceded her in death in 1976. She married John T. Nelson in 1985. He preceded her in death in 2005. A sister, Frances Polk and a brother, William Bingham also preceded her in death. She is survived by her two children-Norman Wooten of Kodiak,Alaska and Sharon Skaggs and husband Rickie of Burkburnett. Mrs. Nelson is also survived by 3 grandchildren-Kathy Carter,Jennifer Kushnirskey and Megan Skaggs; and 3 great grandchildren Kylee Sutton, Lyric Carter, and Samantha Wagner. Also surviving are her 2 brothers, Gene Blingham and Vaughan Bingham and 1 sister Charlene Amidon.
