member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Stumpy Point and the United
Methodist Women.
She was the daughter of the late Will and Mrs. Esther Davenport Mason and the
widow of Gaskill H. Payne.
Surviving are one daughter, Connie Doxey of Portsmouth, Va.; one son, Paul Payne
of Chesapeake, Va.; two half-sisters: Marie Crockett and Eva Smiley, both of
Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother: Edward Mason of Virginia Beach, Va.; three
grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A church service will be conducted on Thursday, Jan. 9, in the Shiloh United
Methodist Church by the Rev. Clarence O'Briant. Burial will follow in the
church cemetery. Twiford Colony Chapel in Manteo is in charge of arrangements.
