STATESBORO -- Mitchell Stephen "M.S." Brannen Jr., 89, died July 8 at Brown's Nursing Home. He was a native of Bulloch County and lived in Savannah for a number of years before returning to Bulloch County three years ago. He was a retired farmer and a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church, where he was in the Golden Age Club and the Frank Williams Bible Study Class.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Lerline Mildred R. Brannen of Statesboro; a son, Mitchell S. Brannen III of Kennesaw; two brothers, Robert F. Brannen of St. Simons Island and William F. Brannen of Savannah; and two grandchildren, Leah Brannen of Jacksonville, Fla., and Thomas W. Brannen III of Kennesaw.
FUNERAL: 4 p.m. today at Hodges-Turner Funeral Home in Statesboro, burial in Brooklet City Cemetery.
