He was born March 8, 1928 in Johnstown, Pa.
He was the younger brother born to Alma and Donald Davis. Bob spent his childhood in the town of Moxham, moving to Westmont as a teenager.
He graduated from Westmont Upper-Yoder High School where he played basketball and football.
He was stationed in Japan where he served in the U.S. Army for two years. Upon his return, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
He married his high school sweetheart, Joanne L. Swank, and celebrated 59 wedding anniversaries.
He worked at American Water Works Service Co., retiring after 27 years. He enjoyed golf and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob was known for his compassion and generous giving to Church and family. He believed in living according to God's Word and chose to lead by example. He was devoted to church organizations including Interfaith Hospitality and Tri-Boro Council of Churches.
His wife, Joanne, his daughter, Nancy, son, Joe and his wife, Jennifer survive him. He was an adored "PopPop" to his four surviving grandchildren: Frank, Gemma, Isabella and Dietrik.
His father, Donald T. Davis, mother, Alma Davis Weible, and brother, Donald D. Davis preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 300 4th St., Riverton on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. A memorial service will follow.
