COLUMBUS--Lee Clanton, 73, of Columbus, Formerly of Grand Island died Sunday July 16, at Columbus Manor.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westlawn Memorial Park in Grand Island. The Rev Ralph Ford will officiate.
McKown Funeral home in Columbus is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials will be directed to the Peace Lutheran Bell Choir.
Mr. Clanton was born June 10, 1916 in Grand Island, the son of Henry and Ada Hohman Clanton. He lived on a farm near Wood River and moved to Grand Island in 1924 after his fathers death. He moved to Columbus in 1932. Mr. Clanton was the City Plumbing Inspector and was also employed by Kelly Plumbing.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a former Columbus City Councilman.
Mr. Clanton was a member of the American Legion and Eagles.
At the time of his death, Mr. Clanton was survived by one sister, Leora Kelly of Columbus. She died July 22.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and one sister.
