Mrs. Mary Yuvonne NeeSmith Thompson, age 74.Lyons, died Sunday, August 29,2004, at her residence after a sudden illness.
She was a native and life-long residence of Toombs County. She was a retired school teacher with Toombs County School System with 19 years of service and attended the First Baptist Church of Lyons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry h. Thompson, Jr.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-laws, Harry H."Trip" Thompson III and Mary Kay, Vidalia, Michael Pughsley Thompson and Salbia, Pennsylvania, Glenn Howard Thompson and Sharon, Alpharetta, and Blake Wendell Thompson and Dawn, Lyons; one brother, Wendell NeeSmith, Vidalia; one sister, LaVerna N. Wilson, Conover, N.C.; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lyons First Baptist Church of Lyons with Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment was in the Lyons City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rusty Wright, Thomas Meadows, Rod Harden, Jesse NeeSmith, Jay NeeSmith and Dan Rustin.
