Bamberg, Aug. 6 - Thomas J. Crider, 90, well known resident of the Spring Branch community, died at his home Monday morning following a few days' illness. Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Spring Branch Baptist church with his pastor, the Rev. James P. Carroll, assisted by the Rev. H. S. Sauls of Denmark, Baptist minister, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakes family plot near the church. "Uncle Tom" as he was known to all his friends, was active, despite his age, until his recent illness. His wife, the former Miss Annie Lee Sandifer, died 25 years ago. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Bennie Sewitt of Orangeburg, Mrs. Bryant Wolfe of Cope, Mrs. Ruth Sandider of Philadelphia, Mrs. H. S. Herndon, Mrs. Jack Hightower of Monroe, Oscar Crider of Bamberg and Donnie Crider now overseas; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
