Mechanicsburg, July 21 --- William L. Singiser, 65 years old, life long resident of Mechanicsburg and retired merchant of this place, died Friday night at his home, 33 East Main Street. Although in ill health for some time, Mr. Singiser was only confined to his home for a period of ten days.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Singiser and was born in Mechanicsburg in the same house in which he died. His father, Andrew Singiser, established a grocery business in Mechanicsburg many years ago. The son engaged in the same business, when a young man, being connected with the F. S. Mumma Grocery Store at one time located in the former Franklin Hall building. Later he established the W. L. Singiser Store on East Main Street, which he conducted for a number of years.

He retired from active business several years ago, since then devoting his leisure time to the affairs of his farm and business interests. His wife, who before her marriage was Miss Emma Eberly, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eberly, died several years ago. Mr. Singiser attended the local Methodist Church. Surviving him, are a daughter, Mrs. John L. Shelley, Jr., and a grandson, Billy Shelley, who reside in the Singiser home on East Main Street. Two brothers, Harry Singiser, of Carlisle and George Singiser of Allentown also survive.

Funeral services will be held from his late home on Friday afternoon at 2 O'clock. Rev Harry Daniels, pastor of the local Methodist Church will be in charge, assisted by Rev. Dr. J. Ellis Bell, of York, a former pastor of the Methodist Church of Mechanicsburg. Burial will be in the family plot in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

The following relatives will act as pallbearers, Milton Mumma, Abram Seiber, Murray Singiser, of Philadelphia, George Singiser, of Carlisle and Charles Hollinger, of Harrisburg.
