On Monday at the home of his son, John Maurer near Kiel in Town Schleswig where he had been staying.
Mr. Jacob Friedrich Maurer died after suffering from dropsy for a long time. He was 84 years, 1 month and 7 days old. The deceased was one of the pioneers of Town Schleswig and was born in 1830 at Schwarzburg, Hessen Darmstadt Germany and came to America in 1854 and shortly thereafter to Town Schleswig.
In 1856 he married Miss Anna Marie Jugenheimer, and the couple moved to a farm east of Millhome, which is now the Ph. Mueller farm.
Of the seven children born to the couple, four are still living, namely; John Maurer near Kiel, Mrs. Carl Koeser near School Hill, Mrs. Herman Koeser in Sheboygan and Mrs. Gettlemann who lived in Town Schleswig. Also one brother. His wife died seven years ago. The burial took place on Wednesday afternoon at the Bethel Cemetery in Ada with Pastor Schroer officiating
