Charles L. Johnson, age 75, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at his home in Greenfield. Born on Nov. 5, 1934, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Paul Christian and Fern Lucille (Schonfeld) Johnson.

Surviving him are his wife, Mary Johnson of Greenfield; children, Sherri "Sue" (Dane) Peck of Shirley, Chuck (Cheryl) Johnson of Indianapolis, Tom E. (Kelley) Kidd of Peachtree City, Ga., Dan E. (Deni) Kidd of Knoxville, Tenn., Marty (Lauri) Johnson of Denver, Colo., David A. Kidd of Indianapolis, and Bill (Chris) Johnson of Carthage; sisters, Edna (Ralph) Watkins, Alice Wade, and Mary Weaver; brothers, David (Rita) Johnson, Paul (Chris) Johnson, and Rod Johnson; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Irene Robertson; brothers, Steve and Bill Johnson; and grandson, Michael Johnson.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with visitation taking place from noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery. Pastor William Chilton will be officiating.
