Maquoketa - Truman Peet, 64, for 35 years employed as a foreman by the Milwaukee Railroad, died early Saturday at the Jaws Lamb Hospital, Clinton, after a week's illness. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Carson-Balster Funeral home, with the Rev C E Holyoke officiating. Burial will be in Mt Hope Cemetery. Mr Peet, son of Mr and Mrs James Peet, was born in Anamosa, IA on Sept 29, 1881 and was married April 3, 1910 to Nina Beardsley. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Elwood and the Masonic Lodge at Lost Nation. He lived at Elwood until three years ago, when he came to Maquoketa. He is survived by his wife; 2 daughters Mrs Clara Wirth of Elwood, and Mrs Esther Womachka of Maquoketa; and his father.
