Funeral services for Evie Lou Doyle were held at 10:00 am, Friday, December 10, 2010 in the Occupy #1 Baptist Church, Pitkin, Revs. Brad Perkins and Hardy Estes officiated. Committal service followed in the Occupy #1 Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale.
Evie Lou, 62, of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 08, 2010 in the Rosepine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on February 21, 1948 in Pitkin to the union of Willard Thompson and Carrie Mancil Thompson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Truman Doyle, Jr.; one grandson, Dusty Eric Doyle; four brothers, Clayton Thompson, Travis Thompson, Carson Thompson, Steve Thompson and one sister, Jimmie Maricle.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Truman Doyle of Pitkin; four daughters, Shonda & Ervin Farmer of Pitkin; Michelle & Cody Nash of Glenmora, Melissa Renee Doyle of Elizabeth and Hope Lynette Doyle of Elizabeth; two brothers, John Thompson of DeRidder and R.D. & Odessa Thompson of Pitkin; two sisters, Teet Hatch of Glenmora and Trudy Reed of Oakdale; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers to serve are Lane Farmer, Patrick Perkins, Shawn Strother, Trey Strother, Justin Perkins, Brayden Gaskin and Megan Ford. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Alvin Goldberg, Jimmy Dale Bloodsworth, Rocky Bloodsworth, Bradley Willis, Gregory Thompson and Michael Reed.
