Maurice Earl Tisdel was born April 12, 1911 in Farwell, Texas to William Richard Tisdel and Ella Melvera Hall Tisdel. He was a graduate of Petersburg High School. He first began preaching at Petersburg Church of Christ. Maurice served as a missionary to Oregon for several years. He established visual Bible aids in Lubbock, while serving at Sunset Church of Christ and the School on Preaching in Taipei, Taiwan. Having preached in numberous churches in the United States and many foreign countries, he retired after 52 years in ministry. When asked about his life, Maurice said, "If I had it all to do over, I'd be a preacher."
Funeral services will be at 10 am Monday, Dec 24, 2001, at White's Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow at Springtown Cemetery. The family will greet guests from 4 to 6 pm Sunday, Dec 23, 2001.
White's Funeral Home, Weatherford, is in charge of arrangements.
