ACCIDENT LAST APRIL CAUSES BOY, AGE 8, TO LOSE SIGHT
Charles Donnelly, 8 1/2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Donnelly, 235 South Plum, was taken by airplane this morning to Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha for further treatment of complications resulting from injuries received in a traffic accident here Apr. 22.

The boy was first injured when he was struck by a car at the intersection of Vine and Koening Apr. 22. At that time, his injuries were not thought to be serious and he was dismissed from the hospital after three days observation.

Following his dismissal, it was learned that he had suffered a cranial hemorrhage which was causing blindness.

He was admitted to the Lutheran hospital for treatment and remained there until yesterday when he was taken by the city's emergency unit to the Ross Flying Service which took him to Omaha.

His condition was described as critical

Charles Donnelly, 8, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Donnelly of Grand Island, underwent three operations at Clarkson Memorial hospital in Omaha Friday of last week. The operations, two minor and one major, were performed to correct complications received in a traffic accident April 22. He suffered cranial hemorrhage causing blindness and was taken to Omaha recently in a critical condition. Mr. Donnelly formerly lived in Fullerton.

Funeral services for Charles (Chuck) Donnelly were conducted yesterday afternoon in the
Livingston Sondermann funeral home by Dr. James S. Chubb, pastor of the Methodist Church.

Mrs. Donald Duryea sang ‘Let The Little Ones Come To Me' and ‘Safe in The Arms of Jesus'. Mrs. Walter Lauritsen played the accompaniment and the organ prelude and recessional.

Pallbearers were Virgil Heimbuch, Donald Williams, Harold Williams and Robert Williams. Burial was in Grand Island Cem.

Present from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Donnelly and Fred Donnelly, North Platte; Mrs. Bert Snyder and Mr. and Mrs. William Clark, Albion and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Minnich, Hastings.
