HENRY C. HOUVENER
Henry C. Houvener, 81, former Saginaw resident, died Thursday at his home in Ann Arbor. He was born March 15th 1864, in the Netherlands and came to Kalamazoo when he was seven years old. In 1898 he married Miss Emma Smith of Huron County. In 1902 they moved to Saginaw where for 28 years Mr. Houvener was employed by the National Grocer Co. They moved to Ann Arbor in 1935. He leaves his wife; seven sons, Irving and Henry of Midland, James and Richard of Detroit, Russell of Kenmore, N.Y. William( Jack) of Cambridge, Ohio and Archie in the merchant marines; Four brothers, Edward of Detroit, Abraham of Hastings, John of Augusta, Mich. Peter of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bassett and Mrs. Susan Felding of Kalamazoo. Eight grandchildren. The funeral will take place at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Case chapel. Rev. S.S. Clossen will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. He may be seen at the Case Chapel after Friday noon.
