Harold W. Rushton, 67 died March 23, 1977, in a St. George hospital of a heart attack.
Born April 27, 1909, Salt Lake City, to Walter St. John and Jennie Wilding Rushton. Married Maretta Crockett, April 24, 1930 in Ephraim, Sanpete County. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served in the U.S. Marine Corps, in Special Honor Huard for President Roosevelt in Nicaragua. Dispatcher, Kennecott Copper Corp, 31 years. Retired in 1973. Member LDS Church. Active in Boy Scouts of America program. Graduate, Cyprus High School. Taught gardening in the adult education program, Granite School District. Member, Wasatch Men's Garden Club. Past President, Kearns Garden Club. Past President, Gladiola Society. Member, Rose Society. In charge of horticulture department, State Fair, 15 years. Member, State Beautification Committee, 25 years. For many years was master of ceremonies for Salt Lake Tribune Home and Garden Festival.
