Mrs. Herman H. Lemke Sr., 52, of 828 N. 19th St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. T.F. Uetzmann will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Emma Ruth Schaefer was born Nov. 26, 1910, in Germany, daughter of the late George and Catherine Keil Schaefer. She was brought to the United States when a year old by her parents. She was married May 16, 1960, at Milwaukee to Herman Lemke and the couple moved to Manitowoc but returned to reside six years at Milwaukee before coming back to Manitowoc. Her husband and sons operate a truck service.
Surviving are her husband, two sons, Herman Jr., of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, and Paul of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Arlen) Darvanian and Miss Karen Lemke of Manitowoc; a brother, Victor Schaefer of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Skarvinski and Mrs. Peter Pozorski of Manitowoc and Mrs. John Ehler of Sheboygan; and three grandchildren. A daughter preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Tuesday until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
