Mr. Allen died on Thurs., April 8, 1999, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 2, 1925, in Hazard, Ky., to the late James (Jim) William and Birdie Allen. Mr. Allen was a retired minister with Praise Restoration Center in Sparta, where he attended. He served in the Army during World War II.
His family includes his wife, Virginia Allen of Cookeville; a son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Angela Allen of Cookeville; two sisters, Berniece Harris of Middletown, Ohio, and Jackie Johnson of Lexington, Ky.; a granddaughter, Tami Allen Brown of Charlotte, N.C.; and a great-grandchild, Jessica Taylor Brown.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five brothers, Ellis, Edward, Charles, Samuel and James W. Allen Jr.
J.C. Allen and Jim Zlaten will officiate at the services.
