"Ferris-Whyte ~ Strathroy loses another young lady. Miss Lillie Whyte was married on Wednesday last at her mother's residence, to Mr. Samuel E. Ferris, of Pullman, Illinois (now part of Chicago). The marriage which took place at 4 p.m., was performed by Rev. P.K. Dayfoot, M.A., in the presence of about twenty guests. The bride was attired in a cloth dress of mottled brown and wore white carnations. Mr. Wm. Hamilton acted as groomsman and Miss Tina Whyte accompanied her sister as bridesmaid. After the ceremony had been completed and the friends had spoken their congratulations, the company adjourned to the dining room and partook of the customary dinner. The presents were tasteful, useful and of a goodly number. Mr. and Mrs. Ferris left on the evening express for their new home in the west, followed by the good wishes of all their friends in which 'The Age' most heartily joins."
