GRAYSON, La. -- Archie Johnson Howell, 64, a resident of Grayson, died at 6:10 a.m. Thursday in a Monroe hospital. He was a retired sawmill worker.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Carrie Howell; five daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Cole, West Monroe, Miss Fannie Howell, Grayson, Mrs. Doris Taylor, El El Cagun, Calif., Mrs. Edna Meredith, Olla, and Mrs. Evelyn Beaver, Houston, Texas; three sons, Charles Howell and Riley Howell, both of Grayson, and J. A. Howell of Pollock; three brothers, Earl Howell and P. R. Howell, both of Grayson, and Hudson Howell, Clarks; two sisters, Miss Eva Howell and Mrs. Belle Nation, both of Grayson; his mother, Mrs. Sallie Howell, Grayson, and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be held at 2:30 p.m. today from the Riser Funeral Home chapel in Columbia. Interment will be in the Welcome Home cemetery in Grayson under the direction of Kenner-Stevens Funeral Home.
