Atwood Greenwell, 79, of Dry Ridge, always devoted time to his church.
He had been a Sunday School superintendent, teacher and song leader at Sherman Baptist Church in Grant County.
He died at 2:35 p.m. Friday at Grant Manor Health Care Center, Williamstown.
A retired dairy farmer, Mr. Greenwell "was always helping his neighbors," said his sister, Ellena G. Hamilton of Verona.
His wife, Clarice Vest Greenwell, died in 1991.
Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorials are suggested to the church and to the American Kidney Foundation.
