He was born on January 17, 1942 to the late Milton and Charlotte Smith Gaines in Anderson County. He retired as a long time plumber of Anderson County. Mr. Gaines was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Brown; and son, Henry Arthur "Bubba" Gaines, Jr. He is survived by his brother, Bobby Gaines; sister, Pansy Hodges; sons, Patrick Gaines, and Dennis Gaines; and daughter, Cheryl Gaines Todd; grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Elizabeth, and Dalton Gaines; and great grandchildren, Steven and Mason.
