Louis's Father Anthony was the Proprietor of the A & Brother Terra Cotta Business that was started in 1856 by his Grandfather, (also named Louis, who came from Germany in 1846)The company was one of the first in Spring Mill. Louis's father Anthony operated the business until right before 1910 when it was closed.
Louis Heronimous Scharff married Clara C Mullen October 30, 1906. Louis and Clara had two children: Paul and Catherine Scharff.
Clara died December 31 1911.
Louis then married Lillian V M Haley September 27 1916 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Millville, New Jersey. After their marriage Louis and Lillian made their home at 633 E Elm Street where they raised Louis's children Paul and Catherine. The family continued to grow as Louis and Lillian then parented the following four children: Lillian, Bertha, Louis Jr. and Marion.
Louis took ill about 1930 and he died December 10, 1931. Lillian continued to raise the children and she died February 22, 1951
