Abraham was born May 23, 1868, in Dresbach, Minnesota. He grew up in Dresbach where his father was a farmer and active in the Methodist Church. At age 12, he moved to Port Byron, Illinois, to attend school. He lived with his aunt and cousins, and had a job in a sawmill. One day he playfully tossed some sawdust. His hand di not clear the saw, and he lost his thumb and fingers of his right hand. He then learned to write with his left hand and finished his education at the Port Byron Accademy.

On September 8, 1906, he married Florence Estelle Starr, in Bowbells, North Dakota. They had a daughter, Elma Lucile. In 1915, Florence died; and in 1920, he came to reside in Brent Creek, Michigan, where he spent the remainder of his life in that peaceful community.

As the new agent for the Grand Trunk Railroad, he handled everything. Working a split shift to accommodate the needs of the neighboring farmers, he often interrupted his evening meal to go to the little depot to allow farmers to pick up their freight. He was known as a kind and helpful man whose life revolved around the work of the Brent Creek Depot.

Lincoln lived with his daughter, Lucile. She was employed by Woolworth's and AC Spark Plug. She married Samuel Seirmarco on January 24, 1927, and then lived in Brent Creek. At that time, her father came to live with them. Ironically, he was found at the depot, dead of a heart attack, on June 19, 1935.
