Mrs. Allyn was born at Macedon, New York, October 5th, 1845, and spent all of her girlhood days in New York state. On January 1st 1867, she was united in marriage , at Macedon, with Mr. Charles Allyn.
Two years after their marriage they came to Delaware County, Iowa, and settled on a farm near Masonville, where they resided for many years.To Mr. and Mrs. Allyn were born four sons, Emery, Hart and Howard, all of Masonville, and John of Winthrop and a daughter, Mrs. Maida Allyn Partridge, of East Rochester, New York. Mr. Allyn passed away in Manchester four years ago.
In 1904 the family retired from the farm and came to Manchester which was their home until two years ago, when Mrs. Alyn and her daughter went to Rochester, New York. For some time Mrs. Allyn had made her home with her daughter.Mrs. Allyn was well known in Manchester, and had a host of friends to whom the news of her death comes with peculiar sadness.
She was a true Christian woman and devoted her life in loving ministrations to the members of her family and friends. The sorrow that has come to the sons and daughter in the death of their mother, is shared by many who knew her and the profoundest sympathy goes out to those left to mourn her passing.
