The former Marigold Sundin was born in Escanaba on May 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Arvid Sundin and Beda (Abrahamson) Sundin.
Marigold married Alfred Asplund on May 13, 1950 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Isabella. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2002.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hermansville, the United Methodist Women's Society and the IXL Historical Museum in Hermansville.
Marigold enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and socializing with her many friends.
She volunteered at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
She had the heart of a servant and never failed to volunteer her time, efforts and empathy for others.
Even though her presence had a profound effect on many, she always remained humble.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her son Darrel (Melodie) Asplund of Cunard; daughter Darlene (Larry) Olivares of DeWitt; grandchildren Nathan and Jared Asplund; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister Earladean Moberg.
