Born in Reading, he was 14th of 15 children born to the late Irvin Henry Kissinger and Eva Eleanora Kissinger (nee Freeman).
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Arlene Anna Kissinger (nee Reifsnyder), who passed on in March 1974, and a son, Isaac Aaron, who passed on in January 1973.
A Navy veteran of World War II serving six years on the Battleship Mississippi, Earl was proud of his time in the service. He worked for the former Firestone Rubber Co. for more than 40 years and retired from the Occidental Chemical Co. in the late 1980s.
Earl was a man on-the-go; fishing, hunting, swimming and sun bathing were some of his greatest passions. Also he was an avid ham radio operator, holding an extra class license with the call letters N3JAE.
He was a member of the Reading Radio Club, American Battleship Association, The Navy Club, Reading VFW Post 411-Birdsboro, Penn Sylvan Health Society-Mohnton and Liberty Fire Company in New Berlinville and a life member of Lower Pottsgrove Sportsman Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Lee, wife of Richard Overholtzer, Boyertown; sons, Earl Denton Jr., companion of Flo Venarchik, Pottstown; and Eric Prescott, husband of Janet Kissinger (nee Robinson), Ringing Rocks, Lower Pottsgrove; and a daughter, Tina Kissinger, Pottstown.
There are also a sister, Betty Jane Schlegel, Elizabethtown; and a brother, John "Jack" Kissinger, Long Island, New York.
In addition, an ex-wife, Pamela Kissinger (nee Davis), and numerous grand and great-grandchildren survive.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Lutz Funeral Home Inc., Mount Penn. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Centre Township.
