Funeral services for Mr. Willie "Hubert" Welch will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 in The Rush Chapel, Oakdale, Downtown Location with
Reverends Jerry Odom and Brian Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Welch, 85, of Oakdale entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital - Grace Home, Alexandria.
He was a lifelong resident of Oakdale and served in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed life to the fullest, especially when he was hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levy and Hazel Welch; one sister, Gladys Wheeler and one brother, Ernest Welch.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of 53 years, Ella Doyle Welch of Oakdale; one daughter, Kayla Welch Manuel and her husband, Brentley of Basile; one granddaughter, Hailey Nicole Manuel of Basile; five brothers, Vernon Welch and his wife, Elsie, Roy Welch and his wife, Beth, Wayne Welch, Rigsby Welch and his wife, Mary and Richard Welch and his wife, Esther, all of Oakdale; one sister, Wanda Monk and her husband, Lynn of Oakdale.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Randy Welch, Andy Welch, Keith Welch, Billy Billings, Ernest Soileau and Brentley Manuel.
