Norman John Price Jr.
Norman John Price Jr., 75, of Plano, Texas went peacefully to be with his Lord on November 30, 2010. He was the only child of Norman and Dorothy Price and was born on June 6, 1935, in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

He married Celia Tomlinson in Port St. Joe, Florida on June 28, 1958, and they demonstrated true love for each other for more than 52 years.

Norm graduated from the University of Florida in 1958 with a degree in engineering. He began his career in Seattle with The Boeing Company and remained with Boeing throughout his 38-year career. Most of the time was spent in Clear Lake City working in the space program, where they raised their three children and were actively involved in University Baptist Church.

Prior to his retirement, they were transferred to Edmund, Oklahoma for a few years, where they enjoyed making many new friends.

Upon retirement, the desire to be around grandchildren daily brought them back to Texas. They enjoyed watching their 10 grandchildren grow into godly young adults and being part of a wonderful circle of friends at First Baptist Church Plano.

Spending time with grandchildren was the joy of Norm's life, with countless hours being spent at their various activities and teaching them to love fishing. Norm's keen retention of trivia provided quite a competition for anyone brave enough to take on the challenge. Whether watching his grandchildren's soccer games, playing bridge with friends or traveling to Florida to see his beloved Gators play, Norm's love for competition was passed along to his children and grandchildren.

Shortly before his retirement in 1995, Norman was diagnosed with his first cancer and he began a 16-year appreciation for the staff at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston. He became close to the staff at Texas Oncology Center and Baylor Hospital in Plano and he greatly appreciated all that they did for him through the years.

Norman will be remembered by his loving wife and their children Gary and Cheryl Price of Durban, South Africa, Karen and James Self of Mansfield, TX, and Greg and Marca Price of Plano, TX. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren - Jason (fiancé Jess), Brian (wife Cara-Lee), Timothy, Stephen, Philip Norman, Christopher (wife Sarah), Caitlin, David, Nicolas and Nathan.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service for Norman at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church Plano, 1300 E. 15th Street. Burial will follow at Restland Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.
