Jack H. Peisker, 81, of Michigan City, passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at 1 a.m. at his home with his family by his side.
Cremation will take place. Entombment of the cremains will be at a later date in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Jack was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Michigan City, to the late Richard and Leona (LeFerrer) Peisker.
On Sept. 1, 1953, in Michigan City, he married Dorothy Mackey, who is surviving in Michigan City.
Also surviving are one daughter, Debra M. (Harold) Maitland of Michigan City; two grandsons, Matt (Jana) Maitland of Michigan City and Rick Hutchinson of Hobart, Ind.; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Violet DiPaolo of Michigan City; and sister-in-law, Marge Peisker of Edwardsburg, Mich.
Preceding him in death is one brother, James Peisker.
Jack retired from Joy Manufacturing after 30 years of service.
He was a veteran and a member of John Franklin Miller American Legion 37. He loved the outdoors, pitching horseshoes and was always willing to help other people.
Memorials may be made to Michiana Humane Society or Fried's Cat Shelter.
